Yatin Oza elected president of Gujarat High Court Advocates' Association

Senior Advocate Yatin Oza was as elected president of the Gujarat High Court Advocates' Association (GHCAA), marking another term in his long association with the body. He has been elected as GHCAA president 19 times.

He became the youngest president of GHCAA at the age of 35 in 1994. He has been elected as vice president six times and once as secretary of association.

The election, which saw five candidates vying for the president's post — Advocate Brijesh Trivedi, Yatin Oza, Babu Mangukiya, Darshan Shah, and Chitrajeet Upadhayay — was held on December 19, with results declared the following day.

In other key positions, Advocate Prithvirajsinh Jadeja elected vice president third time, Lawyer Bhavik Pandya as secretary, Advocate Darshan Shah joint secretary, and Lawyer Ami Patel as treasurer.

Yatin Oza, a veteran advocate, has previously served as an office bearer of the GHCAA 18 times. He also has political experience, having been a member of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly from the Sabarmati constituency between 1995 and 2001.

In a separate election, Ishwar Desai was elected as President of the Ahmedabad Criminal Court Bar Association, considered one of the largest bar associations in Gujarat. Desai secured 1760 votes, defeating his opponent who received 1601 votes
