Looking for tenants: World Trade Centre investors in GIFT City struggle to fill offices
Those who invested crores to buy offices in Gandhinagar's GIFT city are not getting tenants for their offices
The much-hyped GIFT City of Gandhinagar remains a deserted, abandoned town after evening. The entrepreneurs and new investors are reluctant to invest in the town, which has resulted in a grave situation for the investors who booked offices and paid crores of rupees in 2015-16.
Investment went wrong!
The investors who looked forward to high prices for the offices are not even getting tenants to fill the space of their offices. The prices have drastically decreased in the World Trade Centre of GIFT city. The offices which were booked at a price of ₹8500 per sqft in 2016, are being sold at ₹5500 per sqft now. According to reports, the investors are regretting their decision to buy an office in GIFT City.
Even the flooring of the offices was done by the buyers themselves, reports suggest. At this moment, when the property holders are not getting tenants, the authorities collecting maintenance charges will just hit investors even more, when they are already down.
