Women kidnapped in Ahmedabad’s Motera, ex-lover under suspicion

A married woman was abducted from her home in broad daylight in the Motera area of Ahmedabad. Four people, who came in a car and broke into the house forcibly, kidnapped her in front of her mother-in-law.
According to police and family members, the incident took place on the afternoon of May 27 in Bhilwas area of Motera. The victim, identified as Komal, was resting at home when three men and a woman allegedly barged into the house. The accused reportedly grabbed Komal and forcibly dragged her out despite her cries for help.
Komal’s mother-in-law, Shardaben, who was present inside the house at the time, tried to intervene and rescue her daughter-in-law. However, the kidnappers allegedly pushed her aside, warned her not to interfere, and fled with Komal in a car parked outside. Komal’s husband, Kamlesh Nai, was reportedly at work when the incident occurred.
Investigators suspect that Komal’s former relationship with a man identified as Gewar Gurjan may be linked to the abduction.
Family members have alleged that despite Komal’s marriage, Gevar Gurjan had continued to harass and contact her repeatedly. They suspect the kidnapping may have been planned out of obsession and resentment linked to the past relationship.
Following the incident, Shardaben approached the Sabarmati police station and lodged a kidnapping complaint against four accused persons. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. CCTV footage from the area is being examined, and officials are also tracing the Creta car allegedly used in the kidnapping through its registration number.
