Woman takes own life after poisoning son, daughter

A woman in Jam Kandorna, Gujarat, took her own life after poisoning her son and daughter on Thursday.
The woman, a laborer, was reportedly upset after her husband scolded her for not waking up early to finish the chores. In a fit of despair, she allegedly poisoned her six-year-old daughter Kajal and five-year-old son Ayush before consuming it herself.
When this incident happened, the family members were out for work and upon returning, finding no one, they broke open the door of the hut and found the three dead bodies inside.
Ishwar Adivasi (age 38), a native of Karu village in Dhanpur taluka of Dahod district, was living with his family in a farm owned by Alpesh Poshiya, a farmer in Sanala village of Jamkandorna taluka, doing agricultural labour.
Following the discovery of the deceased bodies Jam Kandorna taluka police station was informed that the bodies of the married woman and her two children of the Adivasi laborer family were found in the hut. The police staff rushed to the spot and sent the bodies to the government hospital for a post-mortem.
The police are investigating the incident and have sent the bodies for post-mortem.
