Woman stabbed inside Narol shop, CCTV captures attack

A woman was seriously injured on Tuesday after two assailants allegedly barged into a shop at Al Habib Residency in Narol, Ahmedabad and attacked her with sharp weapons before fleeing the spot. Police said the entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed at the premises.

According to investigators, the attackers, identified as Mazhar Qureshi and one unidentified accomplice, allegedly entered the shop with knives and repeatedly assaulted the woman, reportedly over an old dispute.

The victim, who sustained multiple stab wounds, was rushed to hospital in a critical condition. Her daughter, Syed Ashiyana Banu, told reporters that her mother had no recent altercations and the attack appeared to be a continuation of past enmity.

Police said the assailants fled immediately after the assault and efforts are under way to trace them.

Narol police have registered a case of attempt to murder and initiated further investigation. Officials said CCTV footage from the area has been collected and teams have been deployed to locate the suspects.
