Woman rescued after falling into well in Chandlodia

A young woman was rescued late on Monday night after she accidentally fell into a deep well in Chandlodia area of Ahmedabad, officials said.

The incident occurred around 11.45 pm at Gajraj Society, near a Jain temple. According to fire department officials, the woman slipped and fell into a well estimated to be around 60 to 70 feet deep, triggering panic among local residents.

On receiving an emergency call around 11.48 pm, a fire and emergency services team rushed to the spot with rescue vehicles and equipment. During the rescue attempt, the woman’s father also jumped into the well in an effort to save his daughter.

Fire personnel carried out a coordinated rescue operation and safely pulled both the woman and her father out of the well within about 30 minutes. Neither sustained serious injuries, officials said, adding that both were immediately provided medical attention as a precaution.

The timely response of the fire department prevented a potentially fatal outcome, residents said. The exact circumstances leading to the woman’s fall are being ascertained.
