A 44-year-old woman from Vasna has filed a police complaint alleging that five of her husband’s sisters forcibly entered her residence, assaulted her daughter with a stick, and threatened to kill both of them by throwing acid during a dispute over ownership of the family house. The Vasna police have registered an FIR and initiated an investigation.

As per the complaint lodged by Leelaben Anilbhai Makwana, the incident occurred around 11.30 am on Thursday, when she went to work as a housekeeping staffer at Heta Hospital. At approximately 2.15 pm, she received a call from her elder daughter, Mansiben, 25, who informed her that all five of Leelaben’s sisters-in-law had arrived at their residence and allegedly assaulted her with a stick before throwing her out of the house and locking it from inside.

Leelaben stated that she immediately rushed back to the house where she has lived for the past 30 years with her three children – Mansiben, Hardik (23), and Purvi (19). Her husband, Anilbhai Bhikhabhai Makwana, has reportedly been living separately in a rented room in Vejalpur for the past four months.

Leelaben alleged that upon reaching the spot, she repeatedly asked the five women to open the door, reminding them that she and her family had been occupying the house for three decades and that they had no right to evict her. However, the accused women identified as Shantaben Nanjibhai Gohil, Kamlaben Babusing Chauhan, Champaben Govindbhai Parmar, Savitaben Mukeshbhai Parmar, and Ramilaben Jagdishbhai Parmar allegedly refused, claiming the property belonged to their late father.

As per the FIR, the women also abused Leelaben and threatened to “throw acid” on her and her daughter if they attempted to re-enter the house. The complainant told police that her daughter, Mansiben, had been physically assaulted with a wooden stick before being forced out.

Leelaben and her daughter subsequently approached the Vasna Police Station, where an FIR was filed for criminal trespass, assault, intimidation and issuing life threats. The police have recorded statements of the complainant and her daughter and are verifying property-related documents as part of the probe.

A senior officer at Vasna Police Station said that further statements will be taken and action will be initiated based on the findings of the investigation.
