Woman allegedly sets husband ablaze in Bhuj over monetary dispute

A 45-year-old woman in Bhuj allegedly burned her 60-year-old husband alive in Bhuj in a financial dispute.
On Saturday evening, around 5 pm, Kailash Kanusingh Chauhan (45) demanded money from her husband Dhanjibhai (60). When he refused, she lost her temper, pulled him along to a garage adjacent to their house and poured the kerosene on him before setting him on fire.
The severely burnt man was admitted to G K General Hospital in Bhuj for treatment, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The Mandvi police have registered a case against the wife and began an investigation.
The deceased, Dhanjibhai alias Khimjibhai Vishrambhai Kerai (Patel), 60, a resident of Samatra village in Kutch, had three sons from his previous marriage.
While one son lives in Seychelles, another stays in London with his family, and the third, a married son, resides separately with his family in Samatra itself.
Dhanjibhai’s first wife passed away about four years ago.Around one and a half years ago, he married Kailash, from Hirpura village in Mehsana. She had separated from her previous husband.
According to reports, after moving into his home, she allegedly took possession of gold ornaments belonging to his first wife, including a mangalsutra, bangles, a necklace, rings, and other jewellery totaling 18 tolas, and never returned them despite his requests. Whenever Dhanjibhai demanded them back, arguments would break out.
Kailash also purchased a house in Bhuj. To make the payments, she allegedly used to fight with Dhanjibhai and extract money from him.
