Widespread rainfall across Gujarat: Daskroi taluka in Ahmedabad records highest rainfall of 10 Inches
Gujarat has been witnessing widespread rainfall throughout the monsoon season. Between 6 am and 6 pm on Sunday, the highest rainfall in the state was recorded in Daskroi taluka of Ahmedabad, with nearly 10 inches. Nadiad and Mahemdavad talukas in Kheda district also recorded over 8 inches of rain.
According to a report by the State Emergency Operations Center in Gandhinagar, Matar taluka in Kheda received more than 7 inches of rainfall, while Vaso, Mahudha, and Kathlal talukas recorded over 5 inches. Additionally, Umreth in Anand district and Kheda taluka received around 4 inches each.
Furthermore, 8 talukas across the state received over 3 inches of rain, 18 talukas recorded more than 2 inches, 30 talukas saw rainfall above 1 inch, and a total of 112 talukas recorded less than 1 inch.
As of 6 pm on Sunday, the state has received 58% of its average seasonal rainfall, with the highest being in the Kutch region at 64% and the lowest in the Saurashtra region at 54%.
