President Droupadi Murmu is currently on her visit to Gujarat, where she met members of the local tribal community on Saturday in Junagadh, where the tribal people expressed that their voices are not heard, they are being suppressed, and that they are denied basic facilities.

After completing the jungle safari in Gir, the President interacted with residents at Sinh Sadan, where several tribal women came forward with complaints about inadequate food rations, lack of employment, and poor living conditions.

One woman told the President that her family receives only two kilos of ration, making survival extremely difficult. “We don’t get proper facilities, and when we try to raise our voice, it is silenced,” she said.

Moved by their plight, President Murmu stepped down from the stage to personally listen to the women’s grievances. She took serious note of the matter and directed the Forest Minister and the District Collector to take immediate action. She also instructed officials to arrange for the tribal women to visit Rashtrapati Bhavan for a direct dialogue.

The Forest Minister later confirmed receiving the complaints and assured swift follow-up. The President’s intervention has reportedly prompted urgency within the local administration.
