Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has announced that the Kotarpur Western line will soon be connected to the mains, which means there will be a halt to evening water supply on January 30, 2026, across multiple central zone areas.

AMC has issued a formal notification to alert residents. The shutdown stems from essential work at Kotarpur Western. Engineers are connecting a new 700 mm diameter feeder line from a 20 MLD underground sump to the 1,600 mm Kotarpur main short line.

They are also linking a 6,400 mm diameter main header from a newly built 20 MLD pumphouse to an existing 1,200 mm diameter pipeline near Booster Pump No. 3.

Additionally, they will interconnect the new Kotarpur 20 MLD tank with the current existing underground tank . Affected neighborhoods include Shahpur, Madhupura, Dariyapur, Shahibaug, Dudheshwar, Jamalpur, Raikhad, and Asarwa.

These areas will see no evening water distribution from Kotarpur Western Short Mains-based stations on January 30. However , with the completion of this work, supply will resume the next day, January 31, based on available water quantities in both morning and evening cycles and water supply will be provided to the areas of the central zone such as Shahpur, Madhupura, Dariyapur, Shahibaug, Dudheshwar, Jamalpur, Raikhad, Asarwa, etc.
