Video of men intimidating police PCR van in Ahmedabad triggers probe

A video allegedly showing two men stopping and intimidating personnel inside a police PCR van near Naroda Patiya in Ahmedabad has gone viral on social media, raising concerns over law and order in the city's eastern region. Police have since launched an investigation into the incident.
According to officials, the incident took place on the night of June 9 when the vehicle was out on patrol duty.
The viral footage shows a man standing in front of the moving PCR van and attempting to stop it. He is also seen approaching the driver's side window and allegedly threatening the personnel inside. Even after the vehicle begins moving forward, the man continues walking alongside it and engaging in aggressive behaviour.
Since the area near Naroda Patiya falls close to the jurisdictions of Krishnanagar, Naroda and Sardarnagar police stations, there was initially confusion regarding which unit the vehicle belonged to. However, police investigations later revealed that the vehicle was part of the State Reserve Police (SRP) Group based in Saijpur-Bogha.
Naroda Police Inspector C V Nayak clarified that the PCR van seen in the viral video does not belong to Naroda Police Station. Despite this, police have taken the incident seriously and initiated an inquiry.
Investigators are working to identify the two individuals seen in the video using CCTV footage from the surrounding area and human intelligence sources. Police officials said efforts are underway to trace the accused and initiate legal action against them at the earliest.
