Vehicles worth ₹3300 cr sold during during Navratri-Dussehra in Gujarat

Gujarat witnessed a massive automobile sales boom during the Navratri-Dussehra festive period, with vehicles worth around ₹3,300 crore sold in just ten days. The rush peaked on Dussehra day, when 44,000 two-wheelers and 10,000 cars were delivered across the state.
According to data released by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), the implementation of the revised GST 2.0 rates from September 22 gave a major boost to the auto sector. The reduced tax slabs led to significant price cuts of two-wheelers by up to ₹10,000 and cars by nearly ₹1 lakh which directly fueled record-high sales.
From Navratri to Dussehra, around 1.05-1.10 lakh two-wheelers and 22,000-24,000 cars were booked and delivered in Gujarat. The surge in demand was particularly strong in the SUV segment, which dominated car bookings.
Ahmedabad district emerged as a key contributor with 6,000 two-wheelers and 2,400 cars delivered on Dussehra alone. Over the entire festive window, the city registered bookings of nearly 14,000-15,000 two-wheelers and 5,500-6,000 cars.
Compared to last year’s festive season, Gujarat recorded a 15% rise in automobile sales. The total sales value crossed ₹3,300 crore, including around ₹1,000 crore from two-wheeler sales and nearly ₹2,300 crore from car sales.
