According to police sources, Abhishek, 31, a resident of Satyamsagar Tenement in Vatva, originally hails from Ballia district in Uttar Pradesh. He was actively working as a driver while evading arrest and is accused of involvement in as many as 12 serious criminal cases registered across different police stations in Ahmedabad, including charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Arms Act, and the Prohibition Act.

Among the most serious offences against him are charges under murder, attempt to murder, dacoity, armed robbery, house trespass, extortion, criminal conspiracy, unlawful assembly, obscene acts and singing, and multiple sections of the Gujarat Police Act and Prohibition Act.

The Vatva Police had been actively searching for Abhishek in connection with three pending cases in their jurisdiction alone. A coordinated effort between the Zone-6 LCB (Local Crime Branch) and Vatva Police led to a successful operation, where Abhishek was tracked and arrested at Bhubaneswar Airport with the assistance of local authorities.

Notably, the accused has been booked by Ramol Police Station, Amraiwadi Police Station, Narol Police Station and DCB (Detection of Crime Branch) in multiple cases

In a recent case registered at Vatva Police Station, Abhishek has been charged with attempt to murder and conspiracy under BNS Sections, and Arms Act provisions.

Speaking to the media, a senior police official stated: “The accused is a habitual offender with a history of violent crimes and organised criminal activity. His arrest is a significant step in cracking down on serious offenders in the city. We are investigating his network and possible associates involved in these cases.”

The accused remains in custody, and further investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of his criminal operations. Additional charges may be added based on fresh evidence obtained during interrogation.
