Valsad SOG nabs murder accused posing as Sadhu for a decade

In a decade-old murder case in Gujarat’s Valsad, the special operation group (SOG) has nabbed the accused who allegedly disguised himself as Sadhu (saint) since 2014.
Acting on a tip, the SOG team led by assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Vikram Rathod discovered that the accused Prem Singh alias Sadhu, also known as Sendababa Baburam Nishad, has been living in various temples in UP disguising himself as Sadhu.
With the help of technical surveillance and local police, the SOG team apprehended the fugitive after a decade of evading arrest.
About the case
In 2014, Prem Singh who lived in a room in Vapi GIDC, allegedly involved in a fight over food with his co-worker Pratap Singh Rajput and attacked him with an axe.
At that time, the police registered a case of murder against Prem Singh but he absconded during the investigation.
Notably, a reward was also announced for information leading to the capture Singh.
