Vadodara’s Navrachana school receives bomb threat students evacuated

The Navrachana Higher Secondary School in Vadodara’s Sama received a bomb threat on Monday, second time within four months.

The threat was made via an email, prompting an immediate suspension of all academic activities.

As per reports, the bomb squad and police reached the spot and parents were called to pick their children. Following the incident, Sama police, the bomb squad, and senior police officials arrived at the school and began checking the premises.

More details on this are awaited.

Notably, in January 2025, the same institution received a bomb threat via email. According to reports, no concrete leads were found following the incident.

Earlier this month, Geneva Liberal School in Ahmedabad received a bomb threat. The subject line of the threat mail read, “Bomb planted in the school to provide justice for a rape victim.” The email went on to criticise police inaction in a rape case allegedly involving a person who had assaulted a woman at a Lemon Tree Hotel in Hyderabad in 2023.

An investigation by the Ahmedabad City Crime Branch in the matter revealed that a group of students from a premier institute in Bengaluru are allegedly behind the bomb threat email sent to Geneva Liberal School. Authorities further revealed that these students are suspected to be behind at least 20 similar emails sent across the country during sensitive situations. According to officials, the emails were intended to cause panic and disruption.
