Vadodara police seize fake mobile phone accessories worth ₹21 lakh, two arrested

In Gujarat’s Vadodara district, the Raopura police arrested two shopkeepers from Marimata Na Khancha on Rajmahal road under the charges of selling fake mobile phone accessories under the guise of a branded company.
The action was taken following a joint inspection carried out on Thursday afternoon by Raopura Police and a Delhi-based private firm engaged in protecting trademark and copyright rights of leading brands. The inspection was conducted at two mobile accessory shops—Mahalaxmi and R.S.K. Combo and Touch Mobile—located in Mari Mata Khancha on Rajmahal Road.
The company received information that copyright infringement of counterfeit mobile accessories, including displays and charging cables, was being committed in these two shops.
As per information, police raided the shops on Thursday afternoon and seized goods worth ₹21,71,911 from both the shops, including displays, body covers, glass panels, circuits, and charging cables.
After the seizure, the police filed a case against two locals, Tolaram Dhanaji Purohit and Bhartakumar Savlaram Suthar, under the Copyright Act.
Both were taken into custody, and legal proceedings have been initiated.
