Vadodara police have arrested accused Manisha Vasava in the honey trapping case, where a farmer from Shinor had lodged a complaint at the Shinor Police Station on February 6, alleging that nine people had blackmailed him and extorted ₹75.75 lakh.

During the investigation, police had earlier arrested accused Anwar Mansuri and Salim alias Duck, recovering valuables worth ₹4.18 lakh during remand. Later, accused Ashiq Sikandar Pathan, through whom the money was allegedly routed, was arrested and valuables worth ₹14 lakh were seized. Ashiq Pathan’s son, Ashfaq Pathan, was later released on bail after completion of remand proceedings.

Meanwhile, key accused Shailesh Vasava, who surfaced during the probe, was handed over to Shinor police by the Local Crime Branch. During his remand, police seized ₹2.13 lakh in cash, a car worth ₹5 lakh, an additional ₹40,000 cash, and jewellery worth ₹3 lakh. So far, authorities have recovered valuables worth a total of ₹28.68 lakh in the case.

The other accused arrested during the investigation include Akash Vasava, Prakash Vasava, Hardeep Singh Dhariya, Nishaben Vasava, and Laxmiben Thakor Patel. Police also recovered valuables worth ₹16,500 and a mobile phone from them.

Despite more than three months passing since the complaint was filed, the main accused Manisha alias Shantaben Vasava and Ahmed Pathan, Ashiq’s brother who allegedly took ₹8 lakh, had remained absconding.

Shinor police have now arrested the prime accused Manisha alias Shantaben Vasava and Ahmed Pathan, marking a major breakthrough in the case.
