MLA Jignesh Mevani mocks Kodram milk union’s claim of ₹11 lakh milk loss due to ceiling fans

Vadgam MLA Jignesh Mevani released a video on Tuesday claiming that a bizarre incident has taken place at the Kodram milk producers’ union in Vadgam taluka of Banaskantha. According to him, some members of the Kodram cooperative believe that ceiling fans running inside the premises caused milk worth ₹11 lakh to “fly away or vanish into thin air”
Mevani, in a sarcastic tone, said the incident is so astonishing that technocrats, engineers and scientists from Germany and Europe are expected to visit Kodram to study this phenomenon.
He added that experts would like to know what kind of mathematics or technology exists in this dairy that allowed milk produced through the hard labour of farmers and women to vanish into thin air, wiping out their profits.
According to Mevani, while milk unions in Vadgam village and Mumanvas earn a profit margin of 11–13% and 12–13% respectively, Kodram’s profit is only 6.5%. When locals were asked about the reduced margin, the explanation offered was that “fans spun in such a way that milk worth ₹11 lakh disappeared.”
In the video, Mevani also appealed to the Prime Minister and the government, saying if ceiling fans can make milk worth lakhs vanish, the same technology should be deployed to remove floodwaters from Vav, Tharad and Suigam. He further quipped that this “unique technology” of Kodram should not leave the country and must be preserved.
