Vadaj police foil plot to falsely implicate man in NDPS case, two arrested

The Vadaj police have exposed and foiled a criminal conspiracy aimed at falsely implicating an innocent person in a drugs case under the NDPS Act, arresting two men who allegedly planted drug powder inside a vehicle and then alerted the police.
According to Vadaj police official, the case dates back to April 4, 2025, when a man identified as Pradyuman Luhar called the police control room claiming that suspicious powder had been found inside an Eeco car. Acting on the control room message, a Vadaj police team immediately reached the spot.
Luhar allegedly produced 10 sachets of suspected alprazolam powder from the vehicle and demanded action against the car owner, identified as Gopabhai Luhar. However, during the preliminary inquiry, police officials found Pradyuman’s conduct suspicious. A case was registered at Vadaj Police Station, and a detailed investigation was launched.
The investigation revealed that the powder had not been found accidentally but was deliberately planted inside the vehicle. Police said Pradyuman, with the help of his acquaintance Sanjay alias DDO Luhar, had placed the alprazolam powder in the Eeco car with the intention of framing the vehicle owner, Gopalbhai, in a false NDPS case.
The intricate details uncovered by the investigation painted a picture of deep-seated animosity fuelled by a protracted financial disagreement. The core conflict revolved around a monetary dispute that had festered between Pradyuman and his relative, Gopalbhai, for several years. This enduring grievance culminated in a desire for retribution on Pradyuman's part.
Seeking revenge, Pradyuman carefully plotted to frame Gopalbhai for a serious crime to ruin his reputation and lead to his legal troubles. The investigation revealed he had assistance of an unidentified friend in executing this deceitful plan. Following the disclosure, both accused were arrested on Tuesday, and legal proceedings were initiated against them.
The arrested accused have been identified as Pradyuman alias Rahul Luhar (32), a resident of Khodiyar Nagar Society, Chandlodia, Ahmedabad, and Sanjay Kumar alias DDO Luhar (38), currently residing in Borsad, Anand district, with his original residence near the Dudhnath Mahadev temple, close to the Dadhichi Bridge in Ahmedabad.
Senior police officials termed the operation a commendable example of vigilant policing, stating that timely scrutiny prevented the misuse of the NDPS Act and protected an innocent citizen from being falsely implicated in a serious offence. Further investigation is underway to ascertain if the accused was involved in similar attempts elsewhere and from where they had procured the contraband.
