Uttarayan celebrations turn sweet as windy conditions predicated in Gujarat on Jan 14-15

Gujarat’s popular festival Uttarayan is just  days away, and good news has come for the kite enthusiasts. As per weather department’s forecast, the wind speed in the state will be very favourable for kite flying on January 14 and 15.

As per reports, the wind speed is likely to be 5 to 15 kilometers per hour on January 14-15. On January 14, the wind will mainly be from the northwest.  

While on the 15th, winds will also blow from the northwest. In the Saurashtra zone, the wind direction will be from the northeast, which will prove excellent for kite flyers to enjoy the festival with the sounds of ‘Kaipo che’.

Talking about the weather,  it is likely to remain dry in the state for the next 7 days.

Expect a slight rise in minimum temperatures over the next three days, though levels could fall by 2 to 3 degrees within the following four days. Cold conditions will likely intensify, particularly during early mornings and nights.

Statewide, average minimum temperatures should hover around 16°C, meaning kite flyers need to brace for the chill while perched on rooftops.

Local data reveals Naliya in Kutch hit 6°C as the coldest spot, followed by Amreli at 9°C on Sunday. 

Ahmedabad logged a temperature of 16°C on Monday today, with forecasts showing a 1-15°C dip in the next 24 hours—ensuring Uttarayan skies bring favorable winds for kites alongside persistent biting cold.
