US team to participate in World Yogasana Championship in Ahmedabad

An 11-member team from the United States will participate in the maiden World Yogasana Championship, scheduled to be held in Ahmedabad at TranStadia, Kankaria from June 4 to 8.
The squad was announced by the United States Yogasana Sports Federation (USYSF) in collaboration with the United States Yoga Association (USYA) and World Yogasana, with USYA and USYSF founder-president Balwinder Singh set to lead the delegation.
The athletes, aged between 10 and 55 years, were selected following quarterfinal trials held in Connecticut in April and will compete across youth and senior categories.
The championship is expected to bring together athletes, officials and representatives from more than 60 countries, with competitions taking place in seven official Yogasana disciplines, including artistic yoga and rhythmic yoga.
Participants will be evaluated on strength, flexibility, balance, endurance and precision under standardised international judging criteria.
