In a move to further strengthen the Indo-US tie, the White House has announced two new Consulates in the cities of Ahmedabad and Bengaluru.
Ease for Gujaratis to apply for USA Visa
Gujarat has seen a spike in the number of heads chasing dollars in the States. Youth have looked to migrate to the US in pursuit of the 'American dream'. The establishment of a consulate in Gujarat means that the trip to Mumbai to apply for and avail of a US Visa will now be cut short by a visit to the consulate in Ahmedabad.
Indo-US companionship at a high
The USA already has four consulates in India: Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Chennai. The US Embassy in New Delhi is one of the largest diplomatic missions in the world. Likewise, India has five consulates in the US: in Washington, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Houston, and Atlanta, and will be opening a new one in Seattle. Alongside the ease of immigration announcement, ISRO and NASA are set to send personnel to the International Space Station in a joint mission in 2024. India will also sign the Artemis Accords, adding us to the US endeavour of collaborative space exploration for civil benefits.
