Unseasonal rains lash multiple Gujarat districts, yellow alert issued across state

The India Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate unseasonal rainfall across Gujarat over the next 24 hours, as three weather systems a western disturbance and two cyclonic circulations remain active over the region.
Earlier in the day, several parts of Gujarat reported sudden weather changes. Regions including Sabarkantha (Himmatnagar), Mehsana (Visnagar), Bhavnagar, Kheda, Anand, Nadiad, and Panchmahal witnessed unseasonal rain and strong winds, creating a monsoon-like atmosphere during peak summer.
A yellow alert has also been issued in multiple districts, including Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Kutch, Devbhumi Dwarka, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Morbi, Surendranagar, Mahisagar, Panchmahal, Dahod, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Bharuch, and Narmada. Most parts of the state are expected to receive rainfall, except for some areas of Porbandar, Junagadh, Gir Somnath, and South Gujarat.
The department has warned that the rainfall may be accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30–40 km/h, which could disrupt normal life. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea for the next two days.
While the showers have brought temporary relief from the heat, they have also increased concerns among farmers due to the potential damage to standing crops, particularly wheat.
Temperature levels over the past 24 hours remained high, with Rajkot recording 36.7°C, Ahmedabad 36.4°C, and Gandhinagar 36.2°C. Ahmedabad is expected to remain cloudy throughout the day, with temperatures around 36°C.
The weather department has indicated that conditions are likely to improve after the next 48 hours, after which temperatures may rise by 2-4°C across the state.
