The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in Ahmedabad has issued a forecast for unseasonal isolated light rain in several districts of Saurashtra, Kutch, and North Gujarat on December 31, 2025, and January 1, 2026.

According to the IMD, light rainfall is expected at isolated places, primarily in Jamnagar, Morbi, and Devbhumi Dwarka (Dwarka) districts of the Saurashtra region. Similar conditions are anticipated in Kutch, as well as Banaskantha and Patan districts in North Gujarat.

The department attributes this unseasonal activity to changing weather patterns, though official bulletins emphasize predominantly dry conditions across most of the state. For the remaining districts, dry weather is very likely to prevail with no significant change in minimum temperatures over the next 48 hours.

Thereafter, a gradual drop of 2-3°C in minimum temperatures is expected, followed by a subsequent rise of 2-3 degrees Celsius in various parts of Gujarat. In Ahmedabad and surrounding areas, the minimum temperature is projected to hover around 15°C.

Temperature over last 24 hours

Amreli, Naliya in Kutch, and Keshod emerged as the coldest spots in the state with the lowest minimum 13°C temperature. Ahmedabad registered 15°C, while neighbouring Gandhinagar was slightly cooler at 14°C.

The coastal town of Okha reported the state's highest minimum temperature at approximately 20°C, reflecting milder conditions.
