Heart attack cases continue to surge in Gujarat

Nine died due to heart attack in last 24 hours in the state

After the surge in heart attack cases in Gujarat during garba in Navratri, the cardiac problems have again been linked to COVID-19.

The union health minister, Mansukh Mandaviya, citing an Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) study, cautioned that individuals who have previously experienced a severe episode of COVID-19 should refrain from strenuous physical activity for a period of one to two years to reduce the risk of heart attacks and cardiac arrests.

Mandaviya’s comments come at a time when the state has registered the death of nine individuals in the last 24 hours. 

Three deaths in Bhavnagar and three in Surat

Jagdish Jadav, Lakshmandas Aswani, and Umesh Mandaliya in Bhavnagar have died due to heart attacks.

Surat also witnessed similar cases involving three deaths at different places in the city due to heart attacks.

Sahil Rathod, a resident of the Amroli area, died of a heart attack. Sanjay Sahani in Pandesara and Mahesh Khamber in Varachha also died of heart attacks.

Vadodara’s unfortunate incidents

A youngster, a resident of Ashok Vatika society in Karelibaug, visited a doctor after experiencing restlessness. Unfortunately, he collapsed during the treatment and died.

Prakash Chauhan, a resident of the Nagarwada area in Vadodara, suffered a heart attack in Kuwait. His body will be brought to Vadodara through a chartered plane.

Kanjibhai Parmar,  who went to meet his daughter in Siddhpur died due to a heart attack. Parmar was the husband of the sarpanch of Ranasan village in Chanasma, Patan.

As per reports, during Navratri a total of eight people died in Gujarat while performing garba.
