Under maintenance bridge on Narmada canal collapses, no casualties reported

A bridge on the Narmada main canal, connecting Karannagar and Borisana villages in Kadi, collapsed on Friday, as per reports. However, no vehicle, except a JCB bulldozer was present on the bridge.

No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident, but the bulldozer fell into the canal.

The bridge was reportedly under construction and therefore was closed off for the general traffic.

As per reports, a tyre of the JCB working on the bridge got punctured, and when the operator went down to repair the tyre, the bridge gave away.

Reports also suggest that officials of the Narmada canal department rushed to the spot as soon as they were informed about the mishap.
