Paldi Kankaj’s Sharda Shikshan Tirth has faced action after a police complaint was registered over running unauthorised primary classes. Ahmedabad’s district primary education officer has ceased the classes for standards sixth to eighth in the school.

It will also lose its primary accreditation, as per the recommendations sent to the office of the director of primary education. The validity and accreditation of the school’s ninth to twelfth standards are also being reviewed by the rural district education officer.

The sale of fake commodities, fake government officers, and even fake offices are on the rise in Gujarat. Amidst this, a fake primary school set-up in Ahmedabad’s Daskroi has come to light.

The police department has taken cognizance and launched a probe.

Unauthorised primary school and admissions

The Sharda Shikshan Tirth Primary School in Paldi Kankaj village of Ahmedabad’s Daskroi taluka ran classes for first to fifth standards, despite having permission only to conduct classes for standards sixth to twelfth.

The private school had illegally admitted students and registered their names at the adjacent Paldi Kankaj government school to elude suspicion.

A complaint has been filed by Daskroi taluka primary education officer, Pinkesh Patel, at Aslali Police Station, against the private school administrator Sandeep Brahmabhat and the government school principal Jignesh Sathwara.

Duped many by setting up fake school

The Sharda Shikshan Tirth school ran a non-granted primary school for classes sixth to eighth and a government-granted high school for classes ninth to twelfth, approved by the education department.

However, despite not having permission, the school admitted 66 students and collected a per-student fee of ₹11,000 for its classes from first to fifth.

The students were registered, while their attendance was marked at the Paldi Kankaj government school, adjacent to the fake primary school.

On top of that, examinations of the students were conducted in the government school, for which forged mark sheets were also prepared.

Uncovering the fake primary school

The Paldi Kankaj village school management committee members approached Pinkesh Patel and accused the primary school of admitting students without permission.

Patel, along with assistant education inspectors Jigar Pathak and Ravi Shankar Goswami, established the allegations to be true and filed a police complaint.

The Aslali police has registered a case of fraud and forged documents and has initiated a probe into this.

Regarding this scam, district police chief Amit Vasava said, “In the preliminary investigation, this seems to be a big scam that has been operating for the last three years. And so, the admission documents of students in the last three years have been summoned.

The police have levied sections 465, 467, and 471 of the IPC on the accused in addition to 406, 420, and 114. Currently, the principal of the government school, Jignesh Sathwara, is absconding. Police Inspector AM Vadhela has also started an investigation regarding this.
