The Admission Committees for Professional Medical Undergraduate and Postgraduate Medical Education Courses (ACPUGMEC and ACPPGMEC) has begun round 2 of admissions to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) medical and dental courses.

The move will affect the medical and dental courses that are still vacant after round 1 of choice filling.

Of these, 1,057 seats are in MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) courses, while 744 seats are in BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) programmes. There are also 844 seats vacant in PG medical courses such as MD, MS, Diploma and MDS.

Quota conversion

Of the 1,057 seats, 14 were canceled, 308 were non-reported and 735 are non-converted NRI seats.

The NRI seats will be converted into management quota seats whereas all the SC and ST seats will be converted to open-quota ones.

Out of the 744 BDS seats, five were canceled, 490 non-reported and 149 converted.

Round 2 of the process, which began Aug 23, is being held for the 844 vacant PG seats.

Similarly, a second round will be held for dental admissions, including  43 non-reported, 80 converted NRI seats and 917 seats.

Important dates

The round for UG courses will conclude on Aug 27 and that for PG courses will end on Aug 29. The seat allotment for UG and PG will be announced on Aug 28 and Aug 31, respectively.
