Two workers killed, one injured after billboard blast at South Bopal construction site

Two workers were killed and another sustained injuries after a hoarding installation turned tragic at a construction site in South Bopal on Sunday afternoon, police said.

According to investigators, three labourers were fixing a billboard on the seventh floor of an under-construction building when it accidentally touched live overhead electrical wires. The contact triggered a sudden blast, causing all three to fall from the height.

The injured were rushed to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared two of them — identified as Raj and Mahesh — dead on arrival. The third worker is undergoing treatment.

Bopal police rushed to the spot after being alerted and have begun an inquiry into the incident. Authorities said further action will follow once the initial investigation is complete.
