Two women, including police constable in PM’s security, killed in road accident near Hanspura-Narol Ring road.

In a tragic incident on Monday night, two women — a police constable deployed in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s security detail and an 108 emergency service worker were killed after being hit by a dumper truck near the 108 Emergency Centre located at Hanspura-Narol Ring road.

The victims were identified as Viralben Rabari, posted with the Gandhinagar Cyber Cell who was deployed at the PM’s security, and Hiralben Rajgor, who was serving with the 108 Emergency Centre.

According to police, the accident took place when the two were near the Emergency Centre. A dumper truck driver allegedly rammed into them, leaving both grievously injured. Police personnel present at the spot rushed the women to hospital, where doctors declared them brought dead.

Police officials said that a case has been registered at G division Traffic police station and efforts are under way to trace the vehicle and its driver. “Further investigation is being carried out to establish the exact sequence of events,” an officer said.

The deaths have sent shockwaves across Gandhinagar Police and emergency services, where both women were serving at the time of the incident.
