Two separate accidents in Ahmedabad claim one life, leave three injured

In yet another spate of road mishaps in the city, two separate accidents occurred late on Saturday night, leaving one dead and three others injured.
The first accident took place near Manav Mandir around 10.30 pm. A speeding Swift car, driven recklessly, lost control and rammed into an Activa scooter and a motorcycle. The car then veered off the road and crashed into Vijay Pan Parlour, striking 27-year-old Kalpesh Solanki, who was standing outside.
Kalpesh and the two-wheeler drivers were rushed to hospital for treatment. Tragically, Kalpesh succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The two others received minor injuries and were treated at Sola Civil Hospital. The driver of the car, found to be under the influence of alcohol at the time, was arrested at the scene. A Division Traffic Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
In a separate incident, Paresh Paliya, a middle-aged resident of Vaishnavdevi Circle, was returning home from work on his Activa scooter at around 1:45 am near Sola Bridge, opposite the Fortune Hotel. A four-wheeler driver hit him, causing Pareshbhai to fall and sustain injuries. He was admitted to hospital for treatment. The driver fled the scene after abandoning the Nexon vehicle involved in the crash. A case has been registered by SG-1 Traffic Police, and further investigation is underway.
