Fast food outlet owner in Bodakdev harassed, molested by man who repeatedly messaged her and turned up at her home

In Ranip, two-wheeler rider harasses woman motorist with lewd gestures, smashes her car window

Two separate incidents of molestation have come to light from the city’s western areas, with complaints registered at Bodakdev and Ranip police stations.

In the first case, a 26-year-old woman residing in Thaltej and working in a kitchen-related business filed a molestation complaint against a man identified as Pritesh Zinzuwadiya. The complainant had previously worked at a firm on Sindhu Bhavan Road, where she first met Pritesh five years ago.

According to the complaint, Pritesh had allegedly molested her inside the lift of her residential building and continued to stalk and harass her through repeated messages and visits to her home. Fed up with the ongoing harassment, the woman approached the Bodakdev police, who have registered a case and begun investigations.

In the second incident, a 37-year-old woman residing in Navrangpura was returning home in her car with her daughter on 2 June, when a man on a two-wheeler began following them from Chimanbhai Bridge in Sabarmati. The accused reportedly made vulgar gestures and attempted to force the car to stop.

The woman continued driving and reached RTO Circle, where the man intercepted the car, banged on the vehicle, and smashed one of the windows. Passers-by intervened and managed to apprehend the accused, who identified himself as Jayesh Sadhana.

The woman subsequently lodged a molestation complaint against Jayesh at the Ranip police station, and a case has been registered under relevant sections.

Police have began parallel investigations in both cases and are questioning the accused. The incidents have raised concerns about women’s safety in broad daylight in otherwise busy urban neighbourhoods.
