Two members of Ahmedabad family killed in triple vehicle collision near Chotila

A road accident on the Rajkot-Ahmedabad National Highway on Friday morning claimed the lives of two members of an Ahmedabad family.
The accident took place around seven kilometres from Chotila, involving a Swift car, a pickup van, and a truck. The collision was so severe that the vehicles were completely mangled, and two people died on the spot.
As per preliminary information, the Thakor family from Saijpur, Naroda area of Ahmedabad had visited the Chamunda Mata temple in Chotila on the occasion of Chaitra Navratri. While returning, their car rammed into a pickup van, which in turn collided with a stationary truck.
The impact caused panic at the scene, with loud cries heard across the highway as locals rushed to carry out rescue operations.
The deceased have been identified as Sonal Thakor (28) and Ashish Thakor (16).
Three other family members sustained serious injuries and were shifted to Rajkot Civil Hospital for treatment. The injured include Kalpesh Thakor (29), Harshad Thakor (30), and Divyansh Thakor (3).
The accident led to heavy traffic congestion on the highway. Police teams reached the spot soon after being alerted and cleared the road with the help of cranes. The bodies have been sent to Chotila Civil Hospital for post-mortem, and further legal action is under way.
