Two injured in clash outside hotel in Nikol, iron rod attack alleged

A late-night altercation outside a hotel in Ahmedabad’s Nikol area left two youths injured after they were allegedly attacked with an iron rod by four persons, including a hotel owner and his brother, police said.
According to Nikol Police Station, the incident took place on the night of May 28 near the Angel Arcade complex opposite Palm Hotel.
Jaydeepbhai Devabhai Mundhwa, 22, told police that around 8.30 pm, his friend Darshak Sarvaiya called him and informed him that he had been assaulted following an argument with Arvind Singh, the owner of Raj Palace Hotel, allegedly over pressing buttons in the lift of the complex.
Following the call, Jaydeepbhai, accompanied by his cousin Love and friend Satishbhai, reached the Angel Arcade complex around 9 pm. Police said that near the lift on the ground floor, the group encountered Arvind Singh, his brother Gajendra Singh and two unidentified men.
When Jaydeepbhai questioned Arvind Singh over the earlier altercation with Darshak, another argument broke out, following which the accused allegedly assaulted the group.
Police said one of the unidentified accused allegedly struck Jaydeepbhai and his cousin Love on the head with an iron rod, causing bleeding injuries. The complainant further alleged that his friend Satishbhai was also beaten during the incident.
As a crowd gathered at the spot, all four accused allegedly fled. During the scuffle, Jaydeepbhai’s one-and-a-half tola gold chain and Love’s mobile phone reportedly went missing.
The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital in a 108 ambulance service and later taken for further treatment. Police said both victims were conscious and undergoing treatment when the complaint was lodged.
Based on the complaint, Nikol Police have registered a case against Raj Palace Hotel owner Arvind Singh, his brother Gajendra Singh and two unidentified persons.
