Two Gujarat men held with charas worth ₹2 lakh in Goa

The Crime Branch of Goa Police has reportedly arrested two persons from Gujarat in connection with a narcotics raid in Candolim, recovering charas valued at around ₹2 lakh.

Acting on specific inputs, a Crime Branch team conducted a raid on April 18 near Bosio Hospital at Pinto Wado in Candolim, Bardez, and apprehended the accused, allegedly in possession of 630 grams of charas along with two mobile phones.

The arrested have been reportedly identified as Hiren Ramoliya (32), a resident of Navagam in Surat district, and Shabbirbhai Saiyad (40), a resident of Sihor in Bhavnagar district.

Police said a case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.

Both accused have been remanded to five days of police custody by a local court for further interrogation, officials added.
