Two friends allegedly blackmail, abduct and assault 18-year-old girl in Saraspur

An 18-year-old woman from Saraspur in Ahmedabad has alleged that two youths blackmailed, abducted and repeatedly gang-raped her after threatening to reveal her relationship with another man to her parents and kill members of her family.

According to Shaherkotda Police, the girl who lives in Saraspur with her family, was in a relationship with another youth and used to frequently visit the area where the accused, identified as Mit Makwana and Tejas, resided.

Police said that around five months ago, when the woman was near her residence, the two accused allegedly approached her and threatened to disclose details of her relationship to her parents. The accused allegedly pressured her to accompany them, warning that they would inform her family if she refused.

The complaint further stated that when the woman resisted, the two men allegedly threatened to kill her father and brother. They then allegedly forced her into a car, abducted her and took her to a hotel in Nikol, where they allegedly sexually assaulted her one after another.

The survivor has further alleged that the two men again threatened her with dire consequences around three months ago and allegedly took her to a hotel, where they sexually assaulted her again.

Based on the complaint, police have registered a case of rape and related offences against the two accused. Further investigation is under way.
