Two caught impersonating SOG police and extorting money from public

Ahmedabad police have arrested two individuals for creating fake ID cards claiming to be head constables of the Special Operations Group (SOG), which operates under the Crime Branch, and using them to extort money from the public.
The Crime Branch apprehended Nayan Dineshbhai Parmar and Gaurang Jeevanlal Bhil from Saraspur for posing as fake policemen using counterfeit SOG ID cards. Meanwhile, a search has been launched for Naresh Mavjibhai Radia, a resident of Sardarnagar.
The SOG team received a tip-off that two individuals were planning to travel via bike on the Narol–Naroda Road while carrying fake police ID cards. When Parmar and Bhil were stopped and questioned, the police recovered SOG ID cards that falsely identified them as police officers.
Further investigation revealed that Nayan and Gaurang had fake head constable ID cards made by Bhil’s uncle, Nareshbhai Mavjibhai Paradiya, a resident of Sardarnagar who owns a photo studio.
It came to light that around five months ago, the fake ID cards were created at his studio, and since then, Parmar and Bhil have been using them to trap and extort money from unsuspecting members of the public.
