Two agents arrested in Nadiad over issuing fake UK visa documents, clearance certificates

The police have arrested two agents from Gujarat’s Nadiad over allegedly issuing fake visa documents and forged clearance certificates purportedly by the United Kingdom Home Department with luring dreams of jobs to youngsters.
The accused, identified as Devang Patel and Devam Patel, allegedly operated an overseas consultancy office in Nadiad and are accused of luring people with promises of work permits in the UK, Canada, and other countries.
A visa fraud case has come to light in Ahmedabad, where the victim Aman Desai from Narol area had approached the two agents who were allegedly duped of lakhs of rupees with the promise of a job and study opportunity in the United Kingdom.
The agents allegedly collected ₹10 lakh from him, assuring admission to the University of Greenwich along with employment opportunities and visa assistance.
Later, the accused provided various documents, including what they claimed was a clearance certificate from the UK Home Department. However, despite repeated assurances, the promised visa and admission process never completed. Upon inquiring, the victim discovered that the office had been shut down.
After the incident was reported, police found that they issued forged documents and cheated several youths by collecting money with the promise of visas, overseas education and jobs.
In a separate case, two travel agents, Ashiq Patel and Awadh Patel, operating an office near Mithakhali Underpass of Ahmedabad were accused of defrauding customers by failing to refund tour payments for a Nepal trip that was cancelled due to unrest in the country.
Police have launched investigations into both cases and are probing the extent of the alleged financial fraud.
