Truck driver runs over eight women in Gujarat village, kills three
An overspeeding truck ran over eight women in Balambha village of Jodiya, Jamnagar, killing three and injuring five. The victims belonged to Bakuatra village in Santalpur taluka of Patan.
A group of twelve women had embarked on a pilgrimage to Dwarka, walking as a mark of devotion. However, near Balambha village at approximately 4.30 am on Monday, a speeding truck ran over eight of them, killing three.

Meanwhile, the five injured women – identified as Gita Kasad, Susmita Hethwadia, and Rani Bakutariya, among others – were immediately shifted to nearby Jodiya Hospital via ambulance, where they are currently receiving treatment.
Four other women, who were walking ahead, managed to escape the accident.
Following the accident, the truck driver fled the scene, prompting the Jodiya police to launch a manhunt. Based on a complaint filed by Savita Ahir, the police have registered a case against the driver and initiated further investigation.
