Troubles pile up for SK Langa as ACB probes him, son over ₹11.64 cr property

Updated: Apr 19th, 2024

Former collector of Gandhinagar, SK Langa, who was involved in an alleged Land Scam, now faces another legal issue as a complaint was filed against Langa and his son Parikshit Gadhvi by the anti-corruption bureau (ACB) over a property worth ₹11.64 crore, more than the official income of SK Langa.

ACB has mentioned that during his tenure as a collector of Gandhinagar, SK Langa abused his power and invested in movable and immovable assets.

The complaint also mentioned that such activities, aided by his son, may have taken place from April 2008 to September 2019.

During this tenure, Langa had an official income of ₹5.87 crore and against that, the duo allegedly invested ₹17.59 crore in property.

The property in question was in the name of Gadhvi's proprietorship. The money was deposited in portions and cash was transferred to his account to buy properties. SK Langa deposited ₹5.44 crore in an alleged shell company of his son to buy property, which is under investigation in the primary enquiry under the prevention of corruption Act 1988, said ACB.

Ashutosh Parmar, the assistant director of ACB, told Gujarat Samachar Digital that “an enquiry into property connected to relatives of S K Langa is underway. We have registered the complaint and will now proceed further.”

S K Langa was arrested by the Gandhinagar local crime branch in Mount Abu in October 2023 after a case was registered against him in July 2023 in the Sector 7 police station of Gandhinagar over the alleged Mulasana land scam.
