Trailer rams into bus after sudden braking near Vaishnodevi underpass, truck driver injured

A speeding trailer crashed into a passenger bus near the Hill Lock Circle, on the road from Zundal Circle towards the Vaishnodevi underpass in Ahmedabad early Thursday, after the bus driver suddenly braked to avoid a road bump.
Police sources said that the bus driver, who was reportedly driving at high speed, attempted to overtake another vehicle when he suddenly noticed a bump on the road. In an effort to control the vehicle, he applied sudden brakes.
The trailer following closely behind failed to stop in time and rammed into the rear of the bus with considerable force. The impact caused the bus to swerve and collide with a roadside hoarding.

The trailer driver sustained injuries in the collision and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police reached the spot soon after the incident and cleared the traffic jam that had built up following the crash. Both vehicles were later towed away.
Officials said further investigation is underway to ascertain if speeding or negligence led to the accident.
