Traffic woes at SG Highway as 1.2km stretch slated for closure for six months, check alternate routes

Traffic jams took over on SG Highway and nearby areas as the stretch between YMCA Club and Kanavati Club on Ahmedabad's SG Highway has been closed for six months.
The 1.2-kilometre stretch has been shut down for the construction of ramps for the flyover, commuters travelling from YMCA to Karnavati Club will now have to take a 2-kilometre detour.
Travellers heading towards Saurashtra also got stuck in traffic jams due to this road closure. Considering the situation, commuters on SG Highway are advised to leave 15–20 minutes earlier than usual to reach their destinations on time.
To manage the traffic along this route, the traffic police have already conducted a survey, and personnel will be deployed accordingly. The company constructing the bridge will also assist in traffic management to avoid jams. However, the road from Iskcon to Sarkhej will remain open.
Alternative routes for commuters
From Sarkhej and Sanand: Commuters will need to turn left from YMCA crossroads towards Bhagwan Circle, then turn right towards Zaveri Circle (Chakri Circle), and finally turn right again to reach Karnavati Club and SG Highway.
From Prahladnagar to Karnavati Club: Two alternative routes will be available. From Prahladnagar, turn left towards YMCA, then take the inner road shown alongside to reach Karnavati Club. Or, turn right and take the service road up to Karnavati Junction.
