TMKOC fame Disha Vakani’s father, veteran actor Bhim Vakani passes away

A deep sense of loss has enveloped the family of actors Disha Vakani and Mayur Vakani, best known for their roles as Dayaben and Sundar in the popular television show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Their father, veteran actor and playwright Bhim Vakani, passed away early on the morning of April 7 at the age of 84.

His demise has sent shockwaves across the Gujarati theatre community as well as the wider film industry.

Sharing the news on social media, Mayur Vakani informed that Bhim Vakani breathed his last this morning. He added that the funeral procession would depart from their residence at 2:30 pm, with the final rites scheduled to take place at the Thaltej Crematorium.

Bhim Vakani was a respected figure in the performing arts, known for his contributions to theatre and cinema. Over the years, he shared screen space with prominent actors including Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, appearing in films such as Lagaan, Swades, and Lajja.
