Three workers buried alive at at Gora Ghat on Narmada riverbank

Three workers at a renovation site were buried alive after a landslide at Gora Ghat on the banks of the Narmada River in Narmada district on Sunday. The landslide in wet and unstable conditions caught the workers unawares leading to their deaths.
Emergency response teams, including police and firefighters, rushed to the scene and recovered the bodies after hours of rescue efforts. The victims have been identified as Rohit Ranchhod Tadvi (45), Dipak Bhanabhai Tadvi (40), and Shailesh Kanu Tadvi (37), all residents of nearby Aktareshwar village.
The police have registered a case against INFA Agency and contractor Shailesh Patel under sections 106(1) (causing death by negligence) and 54 (violation of safety norms) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Authorities have launched a search for the accused.
Political leaders from BJP, Congress, and AAP visited the accident site and Garudeshwar Civil Hospital, where the victims’ bodies were taken.
Local residents expressed outrage, alleging that negligence and lack of safety precautions led to the deaths. They said the work should have been suspended during the rainy season or carried out with proper safeguards.
