The police discovered the three Thai women who were residing in an apartment near Palladium Mall and had come to India on business visas.

Nayak approached the three women via an agent and offered a monthly salary of ₹50,000. However, he was paying them ₹20,000 and was collecting the rest of the money through tips from clients.
