Two adults and a boy died in an accident at a china clay factory, 25 kilometres from Bhuj. Akshar, a 10-year-old boy was playing with his uncle Prakashbhai at the factory on August 24, when he stepped outside. While playing, Akshar accidentally fell into the conveyor belt of a clay hopper, which began to mix him with the clay.

Workers in the factory immediately raised an alarm noticing Akshar trapped in the conveyor belt, leading to chaos. Both Akshar’s father, Govindbhai, and the partner, Prakashbhai, rushed to save him but they too were caught in the conveyor belt.. The local workers, upon hearing the commotion, rushed to turn off the switch to rescue them, but sadly, all the three were overwhelmed by the incoming clay, resulting in their deaths.

As per the police, the accident occurred around 11.30 am at the Shri Hari Minerals China Clay Factory near Dharneti village in Bhuj. Akshar, who was playing with clay in the factory, fell into the hopper’s conveyor belt, and the conveyor’s movement trapped him inside. The clay began to pile up on top of him, leading to a tragic end. Govindbhai (43) and Prakashbhai (30) were also trapped and suffocated by the clay. Govindbhai, who lived near the Swaminarayan temple in Bhuj, had three children, the deceased Akshar, another son and daughter.
