Three more COVID cases reported from Ahmedabad
India recorded 602 fresh cases of Covid and five deaths in the last 24 hours

A total of three cases of COVID-19 were registered in Ahmedabad, bringing the total count of active cases to 60.
Cases were reported from Bodakdev, Vejalpur, and Odhav ward.
Most cases are active in the western area of Ahmedabad (36), and only two cases are active in the central zone.
Two COVID patients out of three have a travel history of Mumbai. While two of the patients were released from the hospital, one is still under observation in the hospital.
India’s COVID-19 cases
India recorded 602 fresh cases of Covid and five deaths in the last 24 hours, the union ministry of health and family welfare said on Jan 3.
According to the ministry, the new cases take the total number of active cases to 4,440.
A total of 573 new cases were reported on Jan 2.
The ministry also said that a total 4,44,76,550 people have been discharged till date, reflecting a national recovery rate of 98.8%.
India has reported a total of 145 cases of the Covid-19 subvariant JN.1 as of Dec 28, 2023.
These cases were detected in samples collected between Nov 21 and Dec 18, 2023. The JN.1 subvariant is derived from the Omicron subvariant known as BA.2.86 or Pirola, with Kerala being the first state to report a case.
The country has administered a total of 220.67 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccines as per the available data.
