Three men booked for smashing car window, assault and threats for honking in Sabarmati

A 27-year-old fabrication worker from Chandkheda has filed a complaint alleging that three men smashed his car window with a stone, assaulted him and issued death threats after a quarrel over honking in Sabarmati earlier this month.
As per the FIR filed by Bharat Chaudhary (27 of Chandkheda, the incident occurred around 10.15 pm on August 26 when he was driving his uncle’s Hyundai i20 from his worksite in Tragad to a friend’s house in New Sabarmati.
At the entrance of Saraswatinagar Division-2, Chaudhary’s vehicle was blocked by a Maruti Eeco car. When I honked, the car stopped. Soon, three men got out and began abusing him. One of them picked up a stone and smashed the front window of my car, causing damages worth around ₹20,000, Chaudhary alleged in his complaint.
The complainant further alleged that the trio forcibly opened his car window, hit him while he was inside and threatened to break his hands and legs if he honked again.
The accused have been identified as Ramlakhan Rajput of New Ranip, Santosh Rajput of Chandlodia, and Anop Tiwarilal Rathod of Saraswati Shrip, who was driving the Eeco car.
The attackers fled the spot after local residents gathered. Chaudhary’s friend Pravin Prajapati also witnessed the incident, police said.
The case has been registered at Sabarmati police station under BNS sections relating to assault, criminal intimidation, mischief causing damage and issuing threats.
Police officials said statements of witnesses are being recorded and efforts are under way to trace and apprehend the accused.
