Three separate complaints of alleged rape, molestation, criminal intimidation and assault have been registered against a fire brigade driver in Ahmedabad.

Cases have been lodged at Vadaj Police Station and Sola Police Station under relevant provisions, including rape and the Information Technology Act against Tohit Malik, who is employed as a driver with the city’s fire brigade.

As per the complaint, the accused allegedly established contact with the woman when she was a minor and lured her into a relationship. He is accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting her and threatening to circulate videos to defame her if she resisted or attempted to end the relationship.

Police said that after the woman distanced herself from him, the accused allegedly continued to threaten her and called her to various locations, including the riverfront area. The matter came to light when her family became aware of the situation and reported it to the fire brigade department.

Following the complaint, the accused was reportedly moved to staff quarters in the Gomtipur area. However, he allegedly continued to contact and threaten the woman and is also accused of assaulting her during a subsequent meeting at a garden in the Usmanpura area.

Action has been taken against the accused and another person identified as his associate, officials said.

Further details are awaited.
